SIDDHA SYSTEM A GIFT FOR FEMALE INFERTILITY – REALLY PATHETIC EXPERIENCE OF UNLUCKY COUPLE.

I would like to share the pathetic experience of my unlucky patient.

\A couple with complaint of infertility consulted me in the middle of November

2008 at my clinic. They have been under continuous treatment for the same

since 10- years without fruitful results. History of Intra Uterine Death (IUD)

before 10 years was documented while history taking. Due to continuous failure

in previous treatments ,the couple terminated all medical treatments regarding

the same problem for the past 2 years. Age of the couple is 36 years for male

partner and 32 for female.

They want to rectify their fault as early as possible. They are very eager to have

a baby. Through routine investigation I found them to be normal. Their body

condition was within normal limits .I advise them to wait for another

3-6 months. They agreed and started siddha treatment. As per siddha literature

I prescribed particularly prepared siddha medicines for them with suitable

anupanam. Regular pathiyam were maintained as per need . After 2 months

treatment she got 40 days amennorhoea. The patient was in unexpected

pleasure. I undergo routine confirmative test and her pregnancy was confirmed.

Later I referred them to one of the famous Gynecologist in Karaikudi for further

management and treatment.

A few months later her husband came for consultation. I came to know that his

wife had P.I.H ,she is taking oral antihypertensive drugs. I advise them common

salt free diet ,and to be patient . At the end of 9month they got misunderstanding

due to some family problem, they were separated from each other. The lady was

very much affected . Of course family is important. But she is in term and she

should take care of her baby also. But their problem went beyond their control.

Her BP was not controlled . The baby died inside the uterus at 9 month.

A very small flower is crushed before it’s blossom! . I feel

very very bad. It is my dreadful, pathetic experience.

MY LITTLE BIT EXPERIENCE ABOUT HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA:

  • In my clinical experience I met several cases of hypercholesterolemia, about 80% of them were under the age group of 35-45yrs.

  • Treating them and teaching them is very interesting in my 13yrs of medical practice.

  • Before treatment I undergo routine investigation, through modern methods.

  • Today all our life style are changed. So our food habits also modified in certain styles.

  • During counseling I came to know their food habits, hobbies, and lifestyle.

  • I advise them to avoid fast food, and to improve physical activity.

  • I also advise them to take home made foods, plenty of fruits and vegetables and to avoid fried foods.

  • Usually most of them avoid morning breakfast; I incise them to take breakfast.

  • I also advise them some yoga postures to reduce the fat depots in the body.

  • Most of the patients got wonderful results within a short period and got the satisfied results within a short time, 3months.

  • I also advise them to take some preventive treatment with regular intervals, six months once for 48 days.

  • During treatment regular pathyiam and diet regimen were advise them to follow it.

  • I have very much confident in treating hypercholesterolemia in my clinic.

  • Really siddha medicine do a very good healing in hypercholesterolemia without any side effects.

  • Through this article I want to reveal that hypercholesterolemia
is like a slow poison ,it is the main cause for all diseases. So dear viewers be aware of it.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT

MY PAPER PRESENTATION IN STATE LEVELSEMINAR ON
PHYTOMEDICINE FOR HUMAN HEALTH CARE AT
PUDUKOTTAI,
INDIAN COUNCIL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH,
GOVT OF INDIA,
NEWDELHI.

INTRODUCTION:

Today our topic is about pyto medicine. What is phyto medicine? phyto

medicine is nothing but herbal medicine. Herbal medicine plays an important

role in our routine life. Specific parts of a plants like leaf flower, bulb, root,

rhizome , bark, fruit are dried and powdered for medicinal uses. Herbal

medicine refers to traditional practice, based on the plants. Today phyto

medicines are available as tablets, capsule ,liquid extracts etc.

AIM:

The ultimate goal of this presentation towards

  • Improving the knowledge about phyto medicine .

  • Improving survival age

  • Reducing the need for interventional procedure.

  • Improving the quality of life.

MATERIALS AND METHODS:

As I am a siddha physician. I choose some of the herbs for

analysis. I select the topic hyperlipidaeamia. Why should I choose

hyperlipidaeamia. In nowadays hyperlipidaemia is one of the common

problems seen in younger Generations. Really it is a threat to many

people. It is due to consuming products rich in saturated fats,

like whole milk dairy products, poultry, and egg yolk, fried foods.

It is one of the main cause of all CAD’s that is coronary artery

disease. We can prevent it, one thing we should remember always

”உணவே மருந்து மருந்தே உணவு”

Low cholesterol diet including low in saturated fat that is fat free diary

products, lean meats, fish, shell fish, skinless poultry, whole grain foods, and

green fruits and vegetables. A simple low-cholesterol diet is a big help to you,

but only if you observe and follow these guidelines regularly.

We all should remember that our health is in our hands.

HOW DANGEROUS CHOLESTEROL IS ?

Fats including cholesterol cannot dissolve in the blood or water. So they bind to the

lipoproteins to travel throughout the body. When there is too much of cholesterol, it

builds upon the arterial wall, causing narrowing of arteries, and impeded the blood flow.

That will cause many problems like heart attack (myocardial infarction), stroke

(hemiplegia), etc.

WHAT IS GOOD CHOLESTEROL? AND WHAT IS BAD CHOLESTEROL?

Lipids in the diet are digested and absorbed in to blood in the form of free fatty acid

and chylomicrons. Chylomicrons are nothing but fat, protein complex. It composed of

protein, phospholipid, cholesterol, triglycerides. Liver plays an important role in fat

metabolism. It breaks the chylomicron and other lipids in to LDL, VLDL, and HDL.

GOOD CHOLESTEROL:

  • It does not deposit on the arterial wall.

  • Will not block the blood flow

  • It will improve the blood flow and reduces the risk of Myocardial infarction and stroke.Ex:HDL

  • Mainly present in plant sterols.

BAD CHOLESTEROL :

  • It will deposit on the arterial wall .

  • It will block the blood flow.

  • It combined with other fats tends to get attached in the inner walls of the
  • arteries which will reduce the blood flow and sometimes the cells of the tissues are died due to anoxia and cause heart failure, myocardial infarction, and stroke.Ex:VLDL,LDL,TGL.

  • Mainly present in animal products

THERAPEUTIC USES OF PHYTOMEDICINES:

Phyto medicines are used in many fields. In medical field it plays an important role. Some of these are

  • Anti cancerous action

  • Anti diabetic

  • Anti oxidant

  • Anti cholesterol action

  • Antiseptic

  • Antispasmodic

  • Aphrodisiac

  • Hepatotonic

  • Nutrient

  • Laxative

  • Haemostatic etc.

ANTI CHOLESTEROL EFFECT OF SOME FOOD:

Many food contain anticholesterol effect. Some of these are

  • Linseed

  • Oatmeal

  • Soyaflour

  • Corn

  • Peanut

  • Kidney bean

  • Rye

  • Wheat

  • Barley

  • Wheat bread

  • . Oliveoil

  • Flax seed oil

  • Fish oil

  • Black soyabean.

SOME OF THE HERBS CONTAIN ANTI CHOLESTEROL EFFECT:

Many herbs have anticholesterol effects. Some of these are

  • Allivum sativa

  • Avaena sativa

  • . Brassica oleraceae

  • Cucurbita pepo

  • Fagopyrum esculentum

  • Glicine max

  • Helianthus anus

  • Phaseolus acutifolius

  • Pisum sativum

  • Solanum tuberosum

  • Triticum aestivum.etc

From the above herbs I choose soya bean and garlic.

ABOUT SOYA AND GARLIC:

GARLIC:

We use garlic in day today life.

  • It contains allicin –alkaloid

  • Allyl propyl disulphide ,ajoene, Diallyldisulphyide, dithiin,Phyticacid, enzymes, vitamin, proteins, minerals, saponins, flavonoids, etc.

Actions :

  • Antiseptic

  • Antibiotic

  • Antimicrobial

  • carminative ,

  • stomachic,

  • Tonic,

  • stimulant

  • Diuretic

  • Expectorant,

  • Anthelmintic

  • We can use garlic in many ways .

  • Garlic prevents heart diseases, including atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and cancer.

  • It is also used for common cold and throat infection.

  • It is also used to regulate the blood sugar level and to prevent the complication of Diabetes.

SOYABEAN:

  • Contains Glycine –Amino acid

  • Six kempferol glycoside

  • Butanol.

  • Soybeans also contain isoflavones, genistein, and daidzein and types of phytooestrogen.

  • It also contain unsaturatsd fattyacid omega-3- fatty acid and a- linolenic acid.

USES:

  • The kempferol glycoside relaxes the artery rings.

  • 200 ml of soya drink /day for 8 wk. Before test and after the drink the cholesterol level is noted. There is 7% reduction is noted.

It is also used to prevent cancers of the breast, uterus or prostate.

CONCLUSION :

Herbal medicine cure hypercholesterolaemia and various diseases .Always

prevention is better than cure.So dear colleagues from today itself you start

taking garlic in food. Once again I thank you for Director of the board and

honourable Chair person for given this opportunity.

MEDICAL MIRACLE-SIDDHA MEDICINE-WONDERFULLY HEALS –MALE SEXUAL DISORDERS

Sex is a very important factor for the normal physical and mental development of an individual. Thus sexual disorders of any type will have some deleterious effect on the development of mind and body of any individual.

  • In male various symptoms develop ,eg,palpitation, breathlessness, tiredness, chest pain, weakness, lack of energy, loss of concentration, insomnia, etc.

  • In females include nervousness, fatigue, depression, backpain,
dysmenorrhoea, dyspareunia, loss of temperament lead to unhappy family life.

WHAT IS MEAN BY SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION?

Sexual dysfunction refers to a problem during any phase of the sexual response cycle that prevents the individual or couple from experiencing satisfaction from the sexual activity.

COMMON SEXUAL DISORDERS:

The common sexual disorders are the following

  • Impotence or erectile dysfunction

  • Loss of orgasm or delayed or inhibited orgasm.

  • Pre mature ejaculation.

  • Loss of libido or lack of sexual interest.

CAUSES OF MALE SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION :

PSYCHOLOGICAL CAUSES:

  • Fear of impending marriage.

  • Senility.

  • Hostility towards wife.

  • Fear of masturbation.

  • Excessive worries and anxieties.

  • Local genital disease of the female partner.

  • Problems in the relationship with the sexual partner can lead to sexual dysfunction.

ORGANIC CAUSES:

  • Diabetes

  • Peripheral neuritis.

  • Alcohol.

  • Neurosyphilis.

  • Disseminated sclerosis.

  • Chronic malnutrition.

  • Myxodema.

  • Cardiac diseases.

  • Obesity.

  • Gonorrhea.

  • Diseases of prostate.

  • Diseases of the brain.

  • Diseases of the urinary bladder, neck , urethra.

DRUGS:

  • Opium and Morphine.

  • Barbiturates.

  • Alcohol.

  • Phenothiazines.

  • Nicotine.

  • Reserpine.

  • Female hormones.

  • Anti hypertensive including sympatholytics are also responsible.
PREDISPOSING CAUSES:
  1. Age

  2. Medical conditions such as diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease

  3. Neurological conditions including or arising from dementia, multiple sclerosis, stroke, or spinal cord or back injury.

  4. Pelvic trauma, prostate surgery, previous priapism (painful erection), prolonged bike riding (> 4 hours/week, depending on seat and posture)

  5. Depression and stress

  6. High blood pressure

  7. Obesity

  8. Increased cholesterol

  9. Smoking

  10. Certain drugs (some antidepressants, particularly SSRIs; diuretics; and others)

  11. Alcohol and recreational drugs such as cocaine and heroin may initially stimulate sexual arousal but they are harmful.

DIAGNOSING MALE SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION :

If you think you are experiencing male sexual dysfunction, see your doctor.

  1. Your doctor will ask you to describe the problem and will ask questions to help determine whether the cause is physical, psychological, or a combination of both.

  2. A general physical examination, including examination of the penis and testicles, will be performed, and other tests may be done to evaluate your health.

  3. Blood tests may be done to determine if there is a hormonal problem contributing to sexual dysfunction.

IMPOTENCE:

Also known as erectile dysfunction .It is defined as the inability of a male to attain and/or maintain an erection of penis during copulation.
Above the age of 65 years 25% o males develop impotence. Most of the cases have a psychogenic cause.

LOSS OF ORGASM:

Loss of orgasm is also called as inhibited orgasm is purely due to psychosomatic rather than organic, particularly when libido and erection of penis are normal.

PRE MATURE EJACULATION:

It is a condition where a male ejaculates and reaches to an orgasm before penetration. There are different types of pre mature ejaculation .They are

1.Premature ejaculation — This refers to ejaculation that occurs before or soon after penetration.

2.Inhibited or retarded ejaculation —This is when ejaculation does not occur.

3.Retrograde ejaculation — This occurs when, at orgasm, the ejaculate is forced back into the bladder rather than through the urethra and out the end of the penis.

Premature ejaculation, the most commonest form of sexual dysfunction in men, often is due to performance anxiety during sex. Intercourse after long intervals may also result in prematureejaculation.

In some cases, premature and inhibited ejaculation are caused by psychological factors, including a strict religious background that causes the person to view sex as sinful, a lack of attraction for a partner and past traumatic events.

Retrograde ejaculation is most common in males with diabetes who suffer from diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage). This is due to problems with the nerves in the bladder and the bladder neck that allow the ejaculate to flow backward. In other men, retrograde ejaculation occurs after operations on the bladder neck or prostate, or after certain abdominal operations.

In addition, certain medications, particularly those used to treat mood disorders, may cause problems with ejaculation.

LOSS OF LIBIDO:

It is also called as lack of sexual interest .It has been associated with low levels of the hormone testosterone. It also may be caused by psychological problems, such as anxiety and depression; medical illnesses such as diabetes and high blood pressure; certain medications, including some anti-depressants; and relationship difficulties.

INVESTIGATION:

1.Common investigation relating to underlying cause should be done.

2.Serum testerosterone , prolactin, FSH, and LH should done.

3Ultra sonogram should be done if needed.

TREATING MALE SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION :

  • After analysing the history the case should be treated according to the underlying cause.Suggestions and discussions relieve tension and stimulate self confidence.

  • For psychological causes of sexual dysfunction, such as relationship problems, counseling, either individually or as a couple, may be beneficial.

  • Sexual therapy with a therapist who specializes in sexual dysfunction may also help.

  • Depression or anxiety disorders may need treatment.

  • Any physical problems that may be affecting sexual function should be addressed.

  • If a medication is interfering with sexual function, it may be possible to change or discontinue the medication.

  • Prescription medications that treat erectile dysfunction may help a man achieve and maintain erections.

  • Hormonal treatment, such as testosterone replacement therapy, may help with hormone imbalances that are contributing to sexual dysfunction.
In siddha system of medicine male sexual disorders are comes under Aan maladu, or

veeriamatranilai. Our siddhars described in many books about male infertility and male sexualdisorders.

One of the great siddhar YUGIMUNI told that

“paarkavae aan mahanin vinthu thanum

Pathamana thippu iilatha thalum

Yerkavae salameethil mithapa thalum

Yaelilaha yur patru yirupa thalum

kavae mothirathil nurai than poolum

eyalana karuvathuvum tharika matta

Theerkavae yugi muni sikicha saarum

Thelvaha padi vaithar thirami thane.”

Meaning of the above is

1. Weight less semen ie low specific gravity.

2.The semen which contain no sweet taste.

3. Semen that contain dead sperms.

MY CLINICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • In my clinical practice, I met various types of such cases, the sufferers are disturbed physically and mentally.

  • The problem is about sex, as we know that it is a part of our life, when it gets affected this reflects will induce many problems.

  • I carefully deal such cases .

  • Primarily, I counsell the couple .

  • During the counseling , I judge them whether the patient is having physical or mental or organic problems .

  • According to each individual , usually I took minimum 1-2 hrs for counseling.

  • Next I go through investigations.

  • Almost 80% of cases having unsatisfactory sexual life due to various reasons.

  • Siddha medicine were separately prepared for each patient according to their complaints, ie some may have loss of libido, or some may have ejaculatory problems , or some may have erectile dysfunction.

  • Usually they got improvement within 40 days treatment , some may require 3months -6 months treatment according to their condition.

  • In my 12 years experience in this field male sexual disorders are not a serious illness, but it is a necessity of our routine life.

  • I treat such a lot of cases they all got 99%improvement in their condition.

  • So I have very much confidently and easily treat them.

FEMALE INFERTILITY AND SIDDHA SYSTEM OF MEDICINE- REALLY A MIRACLE

WHAT IS INFERTILITY?
  • Infertility is a condition not a disease affecting the reproductive system that prevents successful pregnancy. It is typically diagnosed after a couple has had 6 to 12 months of unprotected, well-timed intercourse.

TO GET PREGNANT:

  • A woman must release an egg from one of her ovaries (ovulation)
  • The egg must go through a fallopian tube toward the uterus (womb).
  • A man's sperm must join with (fertilize) the egg along the way in fallopian tube.
  • The fertilized egg must attach to the inside of the uterus (implantation).
  • Infertility can result from problems that interfere with any of these steps able to carry a pregnancy

CAUSES:

  • Fallopian tube damage or blockage
  • Endometriosis
  • Ovulation disorder
  • Elevated prolactin
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)
  • Early menopause
  • Benign uterine fibroids
  • Pelvic adhesions, of other causes can lead to infertility.
  • Other causes.

Medications.

  1. Excessive caffeine intake.
  2. Other medical conditions :
    Cushing's disease
    Thyroid problems
    Cancer and its treatment
    sickle cell disease

HIV/AIDS, kidney disease and diabetes can affect woman's infertility.
RISK OF INFERTILITY IN A WOMAN:
  • Woman can also be affected by certain lifestyle and environmental factors, including (but not limited to):
  • Age
  • Stress
  • Poor diet
  • Beingn overweight or underweight
  • Smoking, drugs, and alcohol
  • Medication
  • Environmental toxins
  • Genetic conditions, such as being a carrier of Fragile X syndrome
Other health problems, such as sexually transmitted diseases

HOW WILL DOCTORS FIND OUT?

  • No matter how old you are, it's always a good idea to talk to a doctor before you start trying to get pregnant. Doctors can help you prepare your body for a healthy baby. They can also answer questions on fertility and give tips onconceiving.
  • Doctors can find the cause of a couple's infertility by doing a complete fertility evaluation. This process usually begins with physical exams and health and sexual histories. If there are no obvious problems, like poorly timed intercourse or absence of ovulation, tests will be needed.
  • Finding the cause of infertility is often a long, complex and emotional process. It can take months for you and your doctor to complete all the needed exams and tests. So don't be alarmed if the problem is not found right away.
INVESTIGATION:
For a woman: .
  • Hormone test
  • Ovulatory scan.
  • HSG,TT,Laproscopic examination,etc

TREATMENT:

Doctors recommend specific treatments for infertility
1.Test result
2.How long the couple has been trying to get pregnant
3.The age of both the man and woman
4.The overall health of the partners
5.Preference of the partners
Medicine:
Usually there are a variety of ways to treat infertility, including:
1.Medication
2.Surgery
3.Intrauterine insemination/artificial insemination (woman is injected with carefully prepared sperm from the husband, partner, or a donor)
4.Assisted reproductive technology (ART), such as in vitro fertilization
IN SIDDHA SYSTEM :
Infertility is denoted as MALADU in siddha system of medicine. It is defined as inability to pregnant .
MAIN CAUSES:
The common causes of Maladu are
1.Anovulatory cycle
2 . Immature follicles
3.Any infection of endometrium
4.Salphingitis
5.Chronic cervicitis: In chronic cervicitis the dischargefrom p/v will kill the sperms.
6.Discharge P/V due to any infection.
7.Inflammationreproductive organs orga(uterus, ovary , fallopiantube).
8.Uterine fibroids.
In ancient times one of the famous sidhar“THIRUMOOLAR said that

karpa puzhu is one of the main cause for infertility. He also stated that
this karpapuzhu will eat the sperms.
varaiyana karpathil malatupuzhu puhil
Viraiyana viraithuvai undidu mael
Karaiyana maladiyan kaanathai pokidil
Thuraiyana pillaiyum suhamai senithidumae”
In “Pathinen Siddhar Aruliya Aathmaraatcha mirtham” page no:32-33 also denoted the main symptoms of .They are
  • Lower abdominal pain during menstruation.
  • The discharge p/v is looks like meat washed water.
  • Discharge of water during coitus .

CLASSFICATION:

Maladu is classified into six types in siddha system of medicine. They are

  • Kaga maladu
  • Kathali maladu
  • kanma maladu
  • Aan maladu
  • Pen maladu
  • Niranthara maladu
Kaga maladu:
It is defined as there is no issues after the two babies.

kathali maladu:

  • It is defined as no issues after one baby.

Kanma maladu:

  • It is defined as repeated abortions occur, there is no issues.

Aan maladu:

  • The main symptoms of aan maladu is described as
  • The semen contains very low specific gravity(weight less sperms).
  • Azoospermia

Pen maladu:

  • The Main symptoms of pen maladu is described as
  • Bleeding during the each menstrual cycle should be noted, the symptoms are
  • yellowish black
  • Passing clots
  • Bleeding looks like pus, urine, motion.

Niranthara maladu:

  • "YUGI MUNI” also states that obesity is one of the main cause for infertililty .The main symptoms are
  • Excessive body weight especially in centripetal type.

TREATMENT:
The patient were treated according to everyone’s complaints and condition. The common basic treatment include

  • Bringing Tridhosas in to it’s equilibrium state.
  • Treatment for Malatu puzhu at the time of menstruation(especially on first three days of cycle)
  • Administration of Internal medicine with suitable Anupanam.
  • External touch therapy (VARMA) and yoga.
  • Pathiyam that is diet restriction to normalize the viated dhosas and maintain good drug action.

IN MY CLINICAL PRACTICE:

  • Though I am treating various cases in my clinic treatment for infertility is challenging and very interesting one.

  • I have treated a number of cases with various etiology.

  • Usually the couple come after 8-10 yrs of marriage life.

  • Clear history and the previous treatment of the infertile partners are being analysed first

  • The defect in conceiving is clearly ruled out with the help of modern investigation like Ultrasound Scanning and relevant tests.

  • With the help of siddha investigation methods the patient is then screened for treatment.

  • Effective siddha medicines are individually prepared for the patients and provided to the patients with clean observation.

  • Varma and Yoga therapy also being used as per need.

  • Strict dietary regimen and Anupanam are maintained during treatment.

  • Success rate I am getting from our treatment is more than 90% that most of the patients were previously failed cases .

"I am really happy and mentally satisfied to treat such cases, that we are saving a whole family".
